Problem with Quest for Glory 1 VGA :: Quest for Glory Collection
As a direhard fan of classic gaming, I was sorely disappointed to hear Sierra would be remaking some of it's earlier titles. Quest for Glory I Vga lost the elements of the original game which I truly enjoyed. The thinking aspect was totally removed, in a move (I suspect) to make the game more appealing to a larger audience. Quest for Glory I Vga is all point and click. No more typing (which I enjoyed, and now have great quick typing thanks to Sierra games). The games look a bit better, but I thought the original wasn't bad graphics-wise.Sierra cancelled it's project to revitalize the older games after making King's Quest 1 VGA and Quest for Glory 1 Vga. I would have much rather seen the effort that was put into re-issuing the games instead put into creating more new games. It's quite like the new "re-mixes" people are doing with songs. Some old stuff, just a different sound. On the plus side, all your old puzzles are still there. You don't have to think quite as hard (was my favourite part of the game), so if you're a little slow at problem solving, Quest for Glory 1 Vga gives you a bit of a helping hand.My recommendation? If you're looking for the adventure and fun of the Quest for Glory series, play the original. Quest for Glory 1 Vga doesn't hold half the excitement of the original.Graphics: Although nice looking, they're not breathtaking enough to warrant a re-make of the game.Sound: Nothing earth shattering as well.Enjoyment: Enjoyed this far less than the original.Replay Value: The simplistic form of the game is even less fun to play again. One of Sierra's classic VGA remakes, "Quest for Glory" is a 256-color version of the RPG adventure Hero's Quest with a brand new interface. It looks like the quiet, fairy-tale-like town of Spielburg could use a hero! The governor's daughter is missing, there is a gang of dangerous robbers who have their camp somewhere near the town, and the witch Baba Yaga is up to some mischief. You, a lonely adventurer, agree to take the job and to help the people of Spielburg.Although very similar to Sierra's other "quest" games in perspective and interface (as well as in humor), this is not a pure adventure, but rather a RPG/adventure hybrid. The hero can start as either a Fighter, a Mage, or a Thief. Playing as each one of those classes not only gives you different abilities, but also changes many objectives and puzzles in the game, and influences the plot. Walking in the wilderness areas near Spielburg, you will be attacked by enemies and fight them in real- time combat. Instead of experience points and levels system you gain better stats directly after every fight. You can also train your other skills, such as climbing or throwing, by performing the appropriate actions repeatedly. This remake features VGA graphics (most of the locations and character graphics were completely re-done), and a new, icon-based interface (instead ofQuest for Glory 1-5

The Antwerp is an endangered species of non-sentient animal in Gloriana. It is featured in Quest for Glory 1 and Quest for Glory 4. It is also referred to in Quest for Glory 2. They are named after a town in Belgium. Background[]Many years ago, before the coming of the Hero, Spielburg Valley was infested by a rash of Antwerps. Wolfgang Abenteuer and Schultz Meistersson moved to eliminate them. they were helped by a pair of travelers from Andromeda, and were able to save the valley by either killing or driving off the majority of the creatures. At least one was killed, as its head adorns the wall of the Adventurer's Guild.Several years later a Hero may or may not have attacked an Antwerp near the secret passage to Brigand’s fortress. The choice was different in different possible worlds in the multiverse...in some worlds, the Hero attacked the innocent Antwerp, only for it to attack him in retaliation, causing the Hero to raise his sharpest weapon and pop the creature into hundreds of individual babies infesting the valley again. The Brigands were also known to use Antwerps in their traps.Dr. Cranium collected baby Antwerp specimens from one such Antwerp explosion which he said occured the previous spring. The Hero used one of these babies in order to find the key and access the Dr.'s lab.One hero in one universe, Devon Aidendale encountered one such creature, he was smart, he didn't attack the Antwerp. Devon knew that the beasts were not aggressive as long as they were left alone; he walked past the bouncing monster and searched the rocks carefully for the hidden keyhole. He did not cause any Antwerp population explosions in his versions of the multiverse. While there was a Antwerp explosion and Dr. Craniumn collected specimens it was not caused by Devon.[1] Biology[]The Antwerp is a curious creature. The greater part of its large body is blue, bulbous, and bouncy. It has no limbs and seems to travel merely by bouncing in the direction it wishes to go. Its only distinguishing outer feature is its head, which extends from the top of its body. The details of the Antwerp's appearance differ from game to game:In the EGA version of Quest for Glory I and in Quest for Glory 2, the Antwerp has solid and shiny skin on its lower body. Its head has very distinct features, including four red eyes in two rows of two, two horns growing out either side of the top of its head, and a lighter blue muzzle similar to a dog's or walrus'.In the VGA version of Quest for Glory I and in Quest for Glory 4, the Antwerp's skin is translucent, and its organs are visible inside. Its head is simply a distended extension of its body with few features besides multiple red eyes arranged in a row across the front of its head. QFG4 describes them as: "The Antwerp has soft, delicate fur over a basically rubbery base."The Antwerp is largely docile, normally contentWalkthrough - Quest For Glory 1

Office has a door with several of the babies behind it. If the Hero opens the door, he will be bounced upon, but suffer no harm as the babies are too small. The Hero will need to capture one of the babies, using the nearby Antwerp Trap device to identify the baby Antwerp, then placing avocado rations in the device. Once trapped, the baby will be used in a maze, where it will be bounced towards the key to Dr. Cranium's laboratory.Dr. Cranium will mention that he found his supply of Antwerps in Spielburg, and that it came from an antwerp explosion. At least one line from the narrator claims this was caused by the hero, regardless if he had attacked Antwerps or not in QFG1.Quest for Glory V[]Erasmus and Fenrus discuss having left Spielburg soon after QFG1. Fenrus sarcastically brings up the infestation of thousands of Antwerps may have been a reason.[3]Behind the Scenes[]It’s canonically possible to beat QFG1 without attacking the Antwerp. Though this choice is not recorded in the game’s data. Later games assume that someone or the hero did attack the Antwerp’s causing a population explosion regardless of if the player stabbed the Antwerp or not. Paula Spiese chose not to attack the Antwerp in her game (as shown in her novelizations in Quest for Glory: The Authorized Strategy Guide. In development the antwerps are thought to be a species from 'out of this world', outer space from Andromeda, and that's the reason why the Two Guys from Andromeda were able to successfully hunt them. The easter egg of the two guys was to link the fact that antwerps are from another planet/galaxy/space. They are essentially a meta Space Quest joke. The Antwerp takes its name from the city of Antwerp in Belgium. There is no specific reference that Gloriana shares the same city, although a pun about a trip to Belgium and visiting 'antwerp' suggests the possibility. It is also claimed that Antwerps may be native to Mordavia as well.[4] It lists them under "Monsters of Mordavia" section.[5] However, Cranium got his samples from Spielburg. In QFG5 Erasmus and Fenris discuss the antwerp explosions and Baba Yaga's leaving as one the reasons why Erasmus left Spielburg Valley. The Readme (Collection) states "You can get rid of the Antwerp. Type "Kill Antwerp". The Antwerp will bounce off the screen. Exit the screen. Just before the Antwerp falls on you, type "raise sword" or "raise dagger". The Antwerp will split into 5 cute little baby Antwerps. In the VGA version, click the sword or dagger on the falling Antwerp. In QFG4, Dr. Cranium mentions this Antwerp population explosion."References[]↑ Authorized Guide, pg↑ Quest for Glory IV, via the T.R.A.P.↑ "After you and Baba Yaga left Spielburg, it started getting a bit dull there. I puttered around for a while, then decided to come down here to Silmaria for the winter." So I felt like spending 10 minutes to write a review about it. It kinda surprises me that has no reviews or ratings at all as it was quite decent at his time, obviously before Empire Total War arrived (ETW).This game is basically a precursor to ETW starting at the French Revoluton at 1789, where you choose one of the great forces (GB, France, Prussia, Austria, Russia) on the quest to conquer the whole Europe. It's an 80-100% strategy game (depending on whether you want to play the action fights or let it to computer to decide), where you can deploy troups, build all sorts of buildings (barracks, trading, ports, universities, hospitals, etc), create alliances, declare war/truce and these sorts of stuff. It is not a game I would recomend anymore, as ETW is much more rich in development in all aspects, and might get quite boring at the mid to late game, once you have actually conquered 1/3 to 1/2 of Europe and noone can oppose you, so there's no real danger or risk after this point. It is also quite an easy game; If you have some experience on similar games you can comfortable win it on hard difficulty first time. All in all, it was. (AM LC, ST), Yannick Carrasco (AM RL), Saúl (DM), Koke (M RLC).Inter, Italian Serie A, (Transfer Budget £17.2/Wage Budget £1.9m p/w)It’s time to wake up the sleeping giants. That’s the nature of this challenge if you decide to venture into the steadily declining Serie A. Juventus have dominated the league for the last few years, but there was once a time where Inter and AC Milan were the two biggest Italian teams and two of the biggest in Europe. In truth, there’s not much to separate Inter and Milan, but I’ve suggested to try with Inter as they have more money to offer than their neighbours and that’ll help you on your quest to restore this giant to their former glory. Can you break Juventus’s tight grip on Serie A and reinstate Inter as Italy’s greatest side? Perhaps you’d be able to claim their first Champions League since 2010.Top players include: Mauro Icardi (ST), Gabriel Barbosa (ST), João Mário, (AM RC), Geoffrey Kondogbia (DM), Jeison Murillo (DC).AS Monaco, French Ligue 1 (Transfer Budget £21.5m/Wage Budget £812k p/w)Once one of Europe’s great clubs, AS Monaco took a rapid decline in the early 2000s which ended in relegation to Ligue 2 in 2011. Bought out by a Russian billionaire, they returned to Ligue 1 in 2013 and spent £140m, including a club-record £50m for Radamel Falcao. They’re currently back in the title mix in Ligue 1, but there’s still work to be done to return to the very pinnacle.Your challenge? Restoring this historic club to its previous greatness. PSG have basically run riot in Ligue 1 for the past few years and knocking them off of their domestic pedestal is a challenge in itself, but, ultimately, it’s European glory you’ll be seeking. Monaco would be a great challenge as you’re backed quite heavilyComments
